The Colorado Supreme Court had ruled to remove the former president from the state’s ballot.
The justices of the U.S. Supreme Court are hearing oral arguments in the case of the Colorado Supreme Court barring former President Donald Trump from the state’s election ballot under the Fourteenth Amendment.
Colorado and several other states have claimed that President Trump’s role in the events of January 6, 2021, make him ineligible as a candidate for president due to being “engaged in insurrection or rebellion.”
The former president has stated that the move would “threaten to disenfranchise tens of millions of Americans” and “unleash chaos and bedlam if other state courts and state officials follow Colorado’s lead.”
President Trump has not been charged with insurrection though he has been investigated multiple times since 2021.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the justices of the Supreme Court as they hear the case regarding eligibility for federal office under the Fourteenth Amendment.
- For former President Trump and his legal team to be discerning as they make their challenge to the Colorado decision.
- For God to work out His purposes in the United States during this presidential election cycle.
