Funding to go to 23 organizations in 15 states.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $39 million to 23 organizations and governmental programs focused on identifying home health hazards for low-income families. The HUD estimates that this funding will help over 2,400 homes identify and begin to address potential housing issues using the department’s Healthy Homes Assessment program.
“We are pleased so many local and non-profit leaders are interested in participating in this grant program in order to make the homes of low-income people safer and healthier,” said HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge. “Our partners are acting to intentionally address home-health and safety hazards and HUD is proud to support them.”
