Senator Schmitt calls it “the most important free speech case in a generation.”
The Supreme Court has scheduled March 18 to hear oral arguments in the case of Missouri v. Biden, a free speech and government censorship lawsuit.
The case, brought by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana against President Biden’s administration, alleges the administration violated the First Amendment of the Constitution when it specifically directed social media companies to delete certain comments and specific topics. They allege the government purposefully censored information that was truthful and that the scale of the censorship was massive. The suit alleges President Biden’s administration used its powers to suppress free speech.
The case originated in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana and made its way through the appellate court before coming to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Like many major decisions, the court’s ruling may be released sometime in June.
