Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
A new directive from President Biden’s administration says all employees of the federal government must travel by train, electric vehicle, or electric Uber or Lyft, when their travel is on official business, domestically and internationally. Government agencies will have 120 days to report to the Office of Management and Budget of their action plans.
Pray for the president and his advisors in the administration as they implement the new “green” directive for government employees.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Representative Austin Scott of Georgia says addressing FISA reform is needed to keep Americans safe from unlawful surveillance. He said there should be a “zero tolerance policy” and “increased criminal penalties for unlawful surveillance.”
Pray for members of Congress as they deal with a measure intended for foreign intelligence and not for surveillance of Americans at home.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee along with a member of the Senate have begun investigating the government’s $3 billion loan to a solar company. The entity has allegedly been scamming elderly dementia patients to sell long-lasting leases on solar paneling.
Pray for the legislators as they seek cooperation from the Department of Energy in their investigation of the solar company and its receipt of government funds.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of farmworkers and others and against the Environmental Protection Agency, calling for a reversal of the EPA’s allowing spraying of an antibiotic on citrus crops as a pesticide. The court said it is unlawful under several federal laws, and that the error by the EPA was serious enough that it should vacate the approval of the pesticide.
With thanksgiving for the court’s decision that will protect pollinators, imperiled species, and the health of farmworkers at risk from the overuse of the antibiotic.
