Secretary Yellen says China, Turkey, and UAE support is perpetuating the war.
The U.S. Treasury Department has imposed sanctions this week on 130 “individuals and entities” who help Russia in its war against Ukraine.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stated, “Russia is dependent on willing third-country individuals and entities to resupply its military and perpetuate its heinous war against Ukraine and we will not hesitate in holding them accountable. Our global sanctions coalition has choked off Russia’s access to key inputs for its military-industrial complex and has undermined the Kremlin’s ability to wage its unprovoked war. Today’s actions demonstrate our further resolve in continuing to disrupt every link of Russian military supply chain, and target outside actors who would seek to support Russia’s war effort.”
She said that entities in China, Turkey, and the UAE have been sending dual-use goods to Russia, including critical components of its weapons systems.
Evasion and circumvention of sanctions continue to be a problem. Last month, the State Department and Treasury Department said over 150 people and organizations have done so, supporting Russia’s war efforts.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Yellen as she collaborates with other administration officials regarding sanctions.
- For Secretary Blinken to seek God’s direction as he heads the State Department.
- For the president and members of his Cabinet as they continue to provide aid to Ukraine.
