Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting Japan, South Korea, and India this week. He is continuing on from travels to Israel and Jordan in recent days where he reiterated U.S. support for Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorism and underscored the importance of protecting civilian lives.
The secretary of state is heading a delegation to the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of 2023 in Tokyo. He will hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko to discuss bilateral priorities.
Secretary Blinken will underscore the United States’ commitment to the defense of Japan and South Korea and reaffirm the importance of trilateral engagement.
In New Delhi, Defense Secretary Austin will join Secretary Blinken for the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue.
