Marvel movie actor Clark Gregg submitted pornography that used his likeness.
Screen Actors Guild member Clark Gregg recently testified before the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee, sharing how the use of artificial intelligence (AI) has impacted his life as a working actor.
Gregg, well known for his recurrent role in Marvel movies and television shows, was recently sent a video featuring an AI reproduction of himself participating in “acrobatic pornography.”
“That’s disturbing to have out there with a daughter who is online, but it’s just an example of [it]. This is where my business transcends into your business,” Gregg said during the hearing.
He added, “If they can make me appear to do something I would never do, it’s very dangerous that they could make you, the Speaker… the president, say things, especially in really tense moments as we are going through right now with what’s going on the Middle East.”
Earlier this month, the Nurture Originals, Foster Art, and Keep Entertainment Safe (NO FAKES) Act was introduced in the U.S. Senate “to protect the voice and visual likenesses of individuals from unfair use through generative artificial intelligence.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For federal legislators as they develop laws and regulations regarding the acceptable use of AI.
- For discernment for senators and representatives as they consider the ramifications of artificial intelligence in replicating the likenesses of individuals.
