Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. – Isaiah 41:10
In today’s verse, God says, “Fear not, I am with you.” Jesus taught about the Father’s loving presence. He said that God even knows how many hairs are on your head (Luke 12:7). Do not be afraid! It is not a mere suggestion. Worry is something Jesus expects you not to do. He reasoned that if your Heavenly Father took care of birds and fields how much more would He take care of you (Luke 12:24-27). He included this comforting thought: “You are more important than birds” (Luke 12:24). God values and treasures you.
People place their trust in so many things: money, doctors, and loved ones. And God does use these things to care for you but, ultimately, He is the Giver of all good things. If you put your trust in Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives inside you. Before His arrest and impending death, Jesus said to His grieving disciples that it was better that He leave so that He could send the Holy Spirit (John 16:7). Paul asks, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you?“ (1 Corinthians 6:19). Allow this reality to banish fear, worry, and feelings of abandonment.
The words of the hymn “Great is Thy Faithfulness” take root: “Great is Thy faithfulness/ Great is Thy faithfulness/ Morning by morning new mercies I see/All I have needed Thy hand hath provided/ Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.” Pray for God’s mercies on this nation and be confident that no matter what the political climate is, God, the unchanging Lover of your soul, is with you and in you.
Today’s Verse: Isaiah 41:10
fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

22 And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
