It will be a multipurpose facility in Arizona.
President Joe Biden was in Phoenix to announce federal funding for an Arizona State University library in honor of the late Senator John McCain of Arizona.
According to the McCain Institute, the library will be a “multipurpose facility that will provide Arizonans a place to learn, research, develop and work.” Funding for the $1.9 million library will come from the American Rescue Plan.
The president and Senator McCain served together for decades in the Senate where they became close friends.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “We remember Senator McCain’s life very well. We know that he was a war hero. We know what he spoke up against. He is someone who demonstrated extraordinary courage, character, and integrity throughout his entire life.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and his advisors as they decide who to memorialize and commemorate.
- For officials in the president’s administration as they fill their roles.
- For all the veterans and their families who experienced the horror of prisoners-of-war camps.
