Mike Lawler
U.S. Representative for New York
Michael Vincent Lawler was born in September 1986 in Suffern, New York. He earned a B.S. in finance and accounting from Manhattan College. He became a partner in a political communications firm.
He served as a deputy town supervisor of Orangetown, New York, and was elected to the New York State Assembly where he served a two-year term before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, assuming office in January 2023.
He is married to Doina and they have one daughter. Lawler is Catholic.

Legislation has been introduced by Representative Mike Lawler of New York that would make the trafficking of fentanyl an offense of attempted murder under federal law.
According to the Fentanyl Kills Act, a federal prosecutor would be able to charge drug traffickers who “produce, manufacture, distribute, sell, or knowingly finance or transport” the fentanyl with charges of attempted murder.
“The fentanyl crisis that is gripping our country and local communities is a serious problem, and requires serious consequences for those who peddle this dangerous drug,” stated Representative Lawler. “The Fentanyl Kills Act takes drug traffickers head-on, imposing serious penalties for these criminals who know exactly what they are doing.”
