A number of bills were introduced in Congress this past week, addressing citizenship, immigration, healthcare, and COVID fraud.

Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida introduced a bill in the House of Representatives that would end “unqualified” birthright citizenship for children of parents who are not U.S. citizens.

Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts and Representative Grace Meng of New York have introduced the National Office of New Americans Act, which would aid refugees and migrants to blend into the “social, cultural, economic and civil” life of the United States.

The bipartisan Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act has been introduced in the Senate to draw more workers into the healthcare sector and provide for training, education, and research in areas of specialized terminal illness care.

Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa introduced legislation that would require the Small Business Administration to investigate and recover hundreds of millions in COVID-19 grants disbursed to fraudsters.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of Congress as they take up debate on the proposed bills.
  • For wisdom for senators and representatives as they introduce legislation for consideration.
  • For the president and his advisors as they determine which bills and acts will be signed and which he will veto.
