Issue 603 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for our Military

The Pentagon announced plans for tightening protection for classified information following the leak earlier this year of hundreds of intelligence documents by a Massachusetts Air National Guardsman. The changes include how top secret information is secured and stored as well as access controls. The effort will also include appropriate electronic device detection systems and mitigation measures inside the secure areas.

Pray for Defense Department leaders as they strengthen security policies within America’s military.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Both Ukraine and Russia are expressing concerns over the potential for a massive disaster at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant located in Ukraine. Even if neither side in the conflict attacks the nuclear facility directly, Russia’s occupation of the area could catch the plant in the crossfire. Ukraine’s president Zelensky said his intelligence shows that Russian troops have planted explosives on the roof of several portions of that power plant.

Pray for the forces on both sides as they assess how to protect the nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS

U.S. companies and others doing business in China have been warned by the U.S. National Counterintelligence and Security Center of newly expanded counterespionage that allows greater access and control of information by the Chinese Communist Party. In a bulletin, the NCSC also stated, “U.S. companies and individuals in China could also face penalties for traditional business activities that Beijing deems acts of espionage or for actions that Beijing believes assist foreign sanctions against China.”

Pray for U.S. intelligence and diplomatic agents as they seek to protect U.S. individuals and entities from China’s increasing impositions being placed on Americans working or located there.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

New data from the CDC shows their final estimates for the percentage of American adults ages 16 and up who were infected with COVID-19 to be about 77.5 percent of the population, but only 54.9 percent of Americans think they had the virus.

Pray for CDC officials as they assess, evaluate, and release information to the public.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Leaders of the Palestinian Authority rejected attempts by Israel to offer resources to stabilize the government and prevent its collapse. This included a series of economic and defense measures that would aid the Palestinians. The PA prime minister said his government would seek international action against Israel instead.

Pray for Israeli and Palestinian leaders as the latter reject the “olive branches” offered by Israel.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The Institute for Supply Management reports concerning data about the manufacturing sector’s overall health. This leading economic indicator continues sliding deeper into negative territory, falling 4 percent in June, the weakest since May 2020 in the COVID pandemic.

Pray for U.S. trade and commerce leaders and advisors as they assess the many factors that make up the economic health of the nation.

Pray for Goodness in America

Organizers of the SoCal Harvest Crusade reported over 7,000 attendees made public declarations for Christ over the weekend event in Los Angeles. Over 4,500 were baptized at a beach the following weekend.

Pray for those who made a commitment to turn their lives over to Jesus Christ to find support from other believers in their spiritual growth.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Supreme Court of Indiana ruled that the state’s ban on abortion is constitutional and refused to issue a preliminary injunction to halt enforcement of the law. The ban does provide exceptions for rape, incest, and a risk to the life of the pregnant woman, or if the child is diagnosed with a “lethal fetal anomaly.”

The House of Representatives in Michigan passed a bill that would make using the wrong pronouns that might cause someone to feel threatened by words a criminal felony. The measure states that this is “punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years or by a fine of not more than $10,000.”

Pray for state legislatures to appropriately represent the people as they pass laws on a wide array of issues.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

We have freedom. As of 2023, Americans are some of the freest people in the world. We choose where to live, where to worship, and who to vote for. We even have the freedom to disagree. Why? Because of men and women who served this country and made the ultimate sacrifice. They paid for your freedom with their life. So, love Jesus, give honor where honor is due, be grateful for your freedom, remember those who sacrificed all, and pray that God would bless America.“ – Pastor Shane Pruitt, National Next Gen Director for North American Mission Board, Texas, July 4, 2023
