The mandate will lift at the end of the public health emergency this week.
The White House announced that the administration will be ending the COVID-19 vaccination requirements for international travelers this week, lifting the pandemic-era mandate more than two years after it was first introduced.
“While vaccination remains one of the most important tools in advancing the health and safety of employees and promoting the efficiency of workplaces, we are now in a different phase of our response when these measures are no longer necessary,” the White House said.
The end of this mandate for international travelers will coincide with the full lifting of the public health emergency declaration also taking place this week. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has estimated that lifting this vaccination requirement will now have little impact on public health.
