Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is in the hospital after falling at a fundraising event at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington, D.C., Thursday evening. Senator McConnell, who is 81, is the longest-serving leader of his party in the Senate.
The senator’s spokesman David Popp stated, “This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner. He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.”
