Summit held to review and address domestic and international requirements.
Seventy representatives from across the U.S. Coast Guard met in Anchorage, Alaska, to discuss how better to work together for efforts in the Arctic. They reviewed domestic and international Coast Guard requirements at the forum, dubbed the Coast Guard Arctic Summit, holding topic-specific sessions to better facilitate specific recommendations for future operations in the region.
“The CG has 150-plus years of history dedicated to the Arctic community and is committed to executing our significant roles and responsibilities as the lead federal agency in this important region,” said Rear Admiral Nathan Moore, 17th District Commander. “This first-ever Coast Guard Arctic Summit is an important step to synchronize and strengthen our efforts to meet the large and growing demand for our services across the Arctic.”
