CDC says children, adolescents, and adults should get annual immunizations.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its 2023 list of recommended immunizations. The agency includes immunization again the flu, measles, mumps and rubella, polio, and now COVID-19, as well as other inoculations.
Physicians, particularly pediatricians, rely on the CDC schedule in guiding their patients on the administration of certain vaccines. The CDC does not have the authority to mandate inoculations, leaving that decision up to states and local jurisdictions.
CDC data shows nearly 85 percent of American adults completed their primary COVID-19 vaccination series, but only a third have added a booster.
