Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Joni Ernst of Iowa have sent a letter to the Inspector General of the Small Business Administration as part of a large-scale investigation. The senators requested an assessment into the “extent” of an over $5.4 billion fraud in the Paycheck Protection Program loan program during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency.
Representative Austin Scott of Georgia is calling on the House Intelligence Committee to investigate “where our adversaries have embedded themselves in the supply chain of basic necessities for Americans” such as food and technology.
Pray for members of Congress as they investigate issues that involve national security and the economy.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
Supreme Court oral arguments have been set for April 28 in the religious freedom case of a Christian former postal worker who alleges USPS did not provide accommodation for his exercise of religion. The Postal Service denied his request to omit Sunday delivery schedules.
A three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals said a law banning people from possessing firearms who are under domestic violence restraining orders is unconstitutional under the Supreme Court’s expansion of Second Amendment rights last summer.
