Plans include discussion of annexation.
This week, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be traveling to Israel to meet with the newly formed government, and talk with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Topics of conversation include joint efforts between the two countries, as well as Israel’s plans to annex parts of the West Bank. As of yet, the U.S. has not disclosed which areas it will support Israel taking over.
According to a statement from State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus, Secretary Pompeo will “discuss U.S. and Israeli efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as regional security issues related to Iran’s malign influence.” She went on to say, “The United States and Israel will face threats to the security and prosperity of our peoples together. In challenging times, we stand by our friends, and our friends stand by us.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would keep Secretary Pompeo safe on his travels.
- For God to use Secretary Pompeo to build a strong relationship with Israel.
- For Israel and the U.S. to work together to bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
