“I will meditate on your precepts, and fix my eyes on your ways.” – Psalm 119:15
Where is the quietest place on Earth? You might guess it’s deep down in a cave somewhere but actually it’s in Building 87 at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The specially constructed chamber sets the world record for silence at -20.6 decibels. It is so quiet you can hear the squish of your eyeballs moving and the blood rushing through your veins.
In a world of constant chatter, it can be challenging to meditate on anything through the noise. Yet, the Bible has much to say about the importance of what you think about. If your mind is a jumble of stress and anxiety, then your life will likely be the same. To have a peaceful life, you must cultivate a peaceful mind.
Biblical meditation is the art of pulling away to pause and ponder scripture and your journey of faith. Like many people, you might find it hard to set aside time to think deeply. But be encouraged, with a little creativity you can build-in micro spaces of sanctuary throughout your day. For example, invest one or two minutes in your car before bursting out to work or grocery shopping. Spend those precious seconds slowing your breathing and consciously reminding yourself of one of God’s loving attributes, then offer a simple prayer. God will meet you when you seek Him. Time is His idea and He will help with managing yours!
Pray for decision makers in America to also dedicate a portion of their day in Biblical meditation. Create a quiet place in your mind and when God whispers your name, you will be sure to hear it.

5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
