Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the U.S. is working to advance economic diplomatic efforts in Africa. The U.S. will attempt to capitalize on the population growth on that continent as it endeavors to counter China’s influence in the region.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas spoke with U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents on his visit to El Paso, Texas. Border agents’ morale has dropped to an all-time low as they daily deal with the immigration system under the current administration.
Pray for administration officials who do not know the Lord to discover the truth of Jesus Christ this season.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Representative Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, and Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois have introduced the Anti-Social CCP Act, legislation that would ban TikTok from operating in the United States. It would also prohibit social media companies from operating in the U.S. that are owned or based in China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela. They stated, “TikTok isn’t about creative videos – this is about an app that is collecting data on tens of millions of American children and adults every day.”
Representative Michael Guest of Mississippi and Representative David Trone of Maryland have introduced the End Fentanyl Act. Representative Guest stated, “The fentanyl crisis continues to increase each fiscal year and we know that of those seizures, we’re probably only apprehending 5% to 10% of the drugs that are being smuggled into the country.”
Pray for members of Congress as they attempt to take action to protect national security and Americans’ privacy.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia heard a challenge regarding the charge of felony obstruction that has been used to prosecute many individuals in cases surrounding the events at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
A federal district court judge in Maryland has ruled that the National Institutes of Health does not have a lawful reason to refuse to retire federally-owned chimpanzees that had formerly been used in research to a federal chimpanzee sanctuary.
Pray for wisdom for federal judges as they interpret the law and render decisions.
