$8 million will go into six research projects set to study agrivoltaics.
The Department of Energy announced last week that it would be providing six agrivoltaic research projects with $8 million in funding. Agrivoltaics pairs solar panels with agriculture, allowing land to become dual-purpose for both food production and solar energy. Crop production, livestock grazing, and pollinator habitat are all viable to be paired with solar panels, and the six research projects target the many factors involved with agrivoltaic implementation.
“With these exciting projects, we’re supporting sustainable agriculture and investing in the technologies that enable us to make our climate goals a reality—a win-win for our planet and hardworking farmers coast to coast,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Energy Department officials as they support emerging technology in the realm of agriculture and energy production.
- For wisdom for Secretary Granholm as she oversees the awarding of investments into agrivoltaic research.
- For the president and his administration as they pursue hybrid programs.
