Interagency Task Force presents to Congress for the first time.
The Interagency Task Force on Sexual Violence in Education presented its first report to Congress this week. The task force, a collaboration between the Education Department, the Justice Department, and the Department of Health and Human Services, was established in September of this year.
The submitted report assessed gaps in the enforcement of Title IX as well as recruitment and retention of the Title IX investigative workforce and proposed strategies to prevent sexual violence in the education sector.
“The Department of Education is fully committed to ensuring that every student has the right to learn in a safe environment free from harassment and sexual violence,” said Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.
