Buffalo suburb receives over 6′ of snow in 24 hours.
President Joe Biden has approved an emergency declaration for the state of New York. He has ordered “Federal assistance to supplement State and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from a severe winter storm and snowstorm“ that began this past weekend.
The lake-effect has caused an accumulation of more than 6 feet of snow in the Buffalo, New York, area. Members of the National Guard were deployed by Governor Hochul to assist with snow removal.
The White House press secretary stated, “The President’s action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Administrator Deanne Criswell to seek God’s direction as she heads FEMA.
- For New York state officials and first responders as they endeavor to assist residents impacted by the tremendous snowfall.
- For wisdom for the president and his advisors as natural disasters and severe weather require federal assistance.
