The storm system could become a hurricane on Election Day.
The National Weather Service says Florida may experience another tropical storm system this week, which has the potential to become a hurricane. The storm, which is approaching from the Atlantic side, may impact the state as early as Election Day.
The National Hurricane Center, which is located in Miami, has issued warnings of storm surges, rain, and wind for late Monday. The five-day graph they have issued shows the eastern half of Florida in the projected area to experience the storm. The estimated formation chance in the next five days is 90 percent. Should it become a hurricane, it would be named Nicole.
The official hurricane season in the U.S. lasts from the first of June through the 30th of November.
