Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
The Treasury Department said it intends to gather data from insurers in order to assess climate risk. This first-of-its-kind focus adds to the efforts of President Biden’s administration to use financial regulation to counter global warming.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Communist China has accelerated its timeline for conquering Taiwan, becoming increasingly “adversarial” in recent years, and is now totally committed to “reunification with Taiwan. “There has been a change in the approach from Beijing toward Taiwan in recent years,” he said. “Beijing is determined to pursue reunification on a much faster timeline.”
Pray for members of the president and members of his Cabinet as they make decisions regarding climate and foreign policy.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
A group of 13 House members led by Representative Chip Roy of Texas introduced legislation that would give Americans more options in health care spending by allowing patients to choose options outside of the ObamaCare-guided system. The bill is known as The Healthcare Freedom Act and would expand on the idea of a health savings account.
Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts sent a letter to Abbott Nutrition alleging that the company employed “abusive legal tactics” to cover up health risks with its powdered infant formula product. She claimed that the business had been aware of the safety concerns for decades, including an awareness of a bacteria that can cause deadly infections in babies in its powdered formula product since 2003.
Pray for members of Congress as they seek answers to investigatory matters and introduce new legislation.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
Representative Ben Cline of Virginia, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, says it may be time for Congress to consider privatizing part or all of the financially troubled U.S. Postal Service, or at least borrow key practices from private companies that deliver mail more efficiently.
Pray for congressional committees as they look to advance legislation before the end of their current term in December.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The Supreme Court has declined to hear a case regarding whether or not unborn babies are entitled to constitutional rights. In its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade earlier this year, the Court avoided the subject of fetal personhood, which this rejected case attempted to address. A lower court had ruled that fetuses lack the proper legal standing to challenge state law codifying abortion procedures.
The nation’s first trial over the Arkansas ban on gender-altering procedures for children began in federal District Court this week. If the law takes effect, doctors who violate the ban could lose their licenses or face other professional disciplinary measures and could be sued. The law was temporarily blocked by injunctive relief last year.
Pray for Supreme Court Justices and lower court judges dealing with matters of concern to families and their health.
