The measure now awaits the president’s signature.
On Thursday, the House of Representatives passed legislation to support the production of semiconductors, increase employment in that industry, and technologically compete with China. The $280 billion package was passed by the Senate on Wednesday with bipartisan support. The legislation now goes to the president to be signed into law.
“Today, the House passed a bill that will make cars cheaper, appliances cheaper, and computers cheaper,” President Biden said on Thursday. “It will lower the costs of every day goods. And it will create high-paying manufacturing jobs across the country and strengthen U.S. leadership in the industries of the future at the same time.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For members of both chambers of Congress as they consider measures to counter China’s market dominance.
- For wisdom for the president as legislation is sent for his signature.
- That God’s will would be accomplished through the workings of the U.S. government.
