Attorney General William Barr calls the Russia probe “one of the greatest travesties in American history.”
U.S. Attorney John Durham, the head of a criminal investigation into the origins of the probe of the alleged Trump campaign collusion with Russia, is expected to wrap up his investigation by the end of summer.
On Thursday, Attorney General William Barr said the FBI counterintelligence investigation started “without any basis” and was an attempt to “sabotage the presidency.” He said he has seen troubling signs from the ongoing probe being conducted by Durham.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz has reported that the FBI’s own standards were not followed for wiretap applications to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, detailing the errors and omissions in the process. The attory general stated, “My own view is that the evidence shows that we’re not dealing with just the mistakes or sloppiness.”
“There was something far more troubling here. We’re going to get to the bottom of it. And if people broke the law and we can establish that with the evidence, they will be prosecuted,” Barr said.
The attorney general did not provide any details on evidence the Durham investigation has discovered so far.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For U.S. Attorney John Durham as he begins the wrap-up of his investigations.
- For Attorney General Barr as he leads the Justice Department to uphold the law.
- For truth to be revealed and to be victorious in the realm of spiritual warfare against the nation.
