Shift Your Focus

You have probably heard the saying, “I can do it if I put my mind to it.” There are certainly some things in life that require more of one’s attention or concentration than others. Today’s verse from Philippians begins by listing what you should put your mind to, ” Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise.” It sounds simple, but a shift in focus is often necessary. The greatest benefit of changing your focus to think about these things is how it also changes your attitude… about what is happening in the world, in the nation, in your community, in your family, and in your own life. Learn to live in God’s peace that passes understanding (v. 7)!
