Ashley Hinson
U.S. Representative for Iowa
Ashley Elizabeth Hinson was born in June 1983 in Des Moines, Iowa. She earned an undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California and began her career as a news anchor.
Hinson served four years in the Iowa House of Representatives before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives assuming office in January 2021.
She is married to Matthew Hinson and they have two children. She is a Christian.

Representative Ashley Hinson of Iowa recently introduced a resolution of inquiry, stating, “There are too many questions about the continually worsening situation at the United States’ border with Mexico, and the Biden administration must be held accountable.“
“We’ve had dodge after dodge over the last year from this administration because President Biden’s policies at the border are a complete failure,” Representative Hinson said. “We know those encounters with illegal migrants are surging at our Sothern border. Deportations are down. This administration has cut off ICE from being able to actually do its job. So we wanted to access that information.“
She said the inquiry is intended to “force the administration’s hand.“ She added, “Americans deserve to know what’s going on.“
