House Judiciary Committee Refers Amazon to DOJ

Their 24-page letter claims the company has made “false and misleading statements.”

The House Judiciary Committee referred Amazon to the Department of Justice for further investigation on Wednesday. The bipartisan committee wrote a 24-page letter claiming the company stonewalled their investigation into self-preferencing practices within the company. They also said that Amazon has refused to produce documentation that would back up their denial of such practices.

“Without producing any evidence to the contrary, Amazon has left standing what appear to be false and misleading statements to the Committee,” the committee members wrote. “As a result, we have no choice but to refer this matter to the Department of Justice to investigate whether Amazon and its executives obstructed Congress in violation of applicable federal law,”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For congressional committee members as they investigate and hold hearings.
  • For the attorney general and Justice Department officials as they looking into anti-competition allegations.
  • For wisdom for members of Congress as they provide federal oversight.
