Reports show U.S. broke record for hospitalizations with the virus.
This week, the United States hit a new high for COVID-19 hospitalizations, with a report of 145,982 patients in the hospital with the virus. According to data from the Department of Health and Human Services, the number is up from the previous record set on January 14 one year ago. CDC Director Rochelle Wallensky said that up to 40 percent of those in the hospital with COVID were actually there for other reasons.
California Dr. Jeanne Noble said that “CDC is reporting increasing pediatric COVID hospitalizations, but critical to break numbers down. Between our 2 pediatric hospitals in SF and Oakland, 30% of COVID+ hospitalizations are for COVID illness, and 70% are incidental.”
In addition, the CDC director admitted that over 75 percent of deaths had at least 4 pathological conditions
