Interior Expands Conservation Around San Diego

Part of a larger effort to provide green spaces in urban environments.

Last week, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland was in San Diago to announce new conservation efforts by her department to expand green space in the city. The project comes as funding from the recently passed infrastructure bill that will allow the federal government to improve access to green space in urban environments. The bill will also allow for climate resiliency projects in the city.

Secretary Haaland expressed the importance of these efforts saying, “For the 80 percent of Americans who live in or near cities, urban green spaces provide vital access to nature and outdoor recreation, advancing environmental justice while also boosting local economies. I believe strongly that getting young people in touch with nature early and often is key to building long-term relationships between communities and their surroundings.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Interior Department officials to seek God’s guidance for the best projects to fund.
  • That the president’s administration would be wise in the investment in outdoor spaces for Americans.
  • For Secretary Haaland to be used by the Lord as she leads the Interior Department.
