Today, President Joe Biden is meeting with Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, and Homeland Security Advisor Liz Sherwood-Randall. They will be covering the ongoing federal response to the tornadoes and other extreme weather events that hit multiple states on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Over the weekend, the president met with governors and officials from Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, and Mississippi to discuss how the federal government can best support the states and issued multiple emergency and disaster declarations. Nearly 60,000 homes are still without power as local authorities are working with FEMA and the National Guard to restore infrastructure.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to guide the federal officials that lead the response team and the recovery efforts.
- For God to be near and to comfort those who lost loved ones, homes, and places of employment as a result of the devastation.
- For God’s hand to be on the first responders who are working on the front lines of recovery.
