Divine Contemplation – The Presidential Prayer Team

God is not a man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? – Numbers 23:19

“I know nothing which can so comfort the soul; so calm the swelling billows of grief and sorrow; so speak peace to the winds of trial, as a devout musing upon the subject of the Godhead,” stated Charles Spurgeon. Thinking about the names, nature, person, and work of God will change you and change your life. Every soul that ponders God will be given a precious gift… a new and better perspective.

While no person can sufficiently define God, you can completely understand that God does not change. Change requires becoming better or worse over time. God is perfect and remains perfect outside of time. Change can also come about when new information comes to light. God knows all things, there is no new information for Him to adjust to. When the Bible speaks of God changing His mind, that relates to Him dealing with humankind. God’s essence and character do not change.

As you look back over your life, you may be able to see where you have grown and learned and, yes, changed for the better! That growth likely has something to do with seeing both God and yourself a bit more clearly. Hopefully, you have more faith than ever that the Lord has America’s future drawn out in a perfect plan. Pray for those in offices of leadership across the nation to have hearts and minds given to divine contemplation. Ask that they will adopt new perspectives that honor God and bring blessing to America.
