Defense secretary says Del Toro understands today’s pressing challenges.
In a unanimous voice vote, the Senate confirmed Carlos Del Toro as Secretary of the Navy. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served 22 years becoming an officer and ship commander. He has recently been CEO of SBG Technology Solutions in the private sector.
During his confirmation hearings in July, Del Toro stated, “If confirmed, I’m going to be exclusively focused on the China threat and exclusively focused on moving our maritime strategy forward in order to protect Taiwan and all of our national security interests in the Indo-Pacific theater.“
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said of Del Toro’s confirmation, “He understands firsthand the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing our Navy.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Del Toro as he assumes the civilian leadership of America’s Navy.
- For Secretary Austin as he heads the Department of Defense.
- For the Senate as they continue to evaluate and vote on the president’s nominees.
- For all who are in military leadership as they respond to the threats and challenges faced around the world.
