Announces $6.1 million new firefighting complex.
On Friday of last week, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland traveled to Grand Junction, Colorado to highlight the Interior Department’s plan to address the growing risk of wildfires in the west. During her remarks, Secretary Haaland announced a $6.1 million investment that would update the existing fire management unit with a brand new complex.
The secretary expressed the need for the new facility saying, “We owe the brave women and men on the frontlines the right tools and training they need to protect our communities and our lands from the increasing threat of fire. By making smart investments in critical infrastructure as well as climate resilience, we will strengthen our wildland fire preparedness and response across the West.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would lead Secretary Haaland as she seeks to prevent destructive fires in Colorado.
- For the Interior Department to seek God’s wisdom on how best to preserve the nation’s lands.
- For President Biden’s administration as they develop methods to address climate change.
