Looks to pursue a joint contract with Microsoft, Amazon, and others.
The Defense Department announced on Tuesday that it had canceled a $10 billion contract with Microsoft. The initial JEDI contract was intended to create a classified cloud computing service for the country’s military to utilize. In place of this contract, the Pentagon will be pursuing a joint project with Amazon, Microsoft, and possibly other cloud-computing companies.
A statement from Microsoft in response to the announcement said, “We understand the DoD s rationale, and we support them and every military member who needs the mission-critical 21st-century technology JEDI would have provided. The DoD faced a difficult choice: Continue with what could be a years-long litigation battle or find another path forward.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For leaders in the Defense Department to have wisdom on how best to keep the nation safe.
- That Secretary Austin would find the best technological solutions for the military.
- For the Lord to protect the nation’s data from foreign digital threats.
