Congress has 15 days to approve the $735 million sale.
President Biden’s administration approved the sale of $735 million worth of weapons to the government of Israel at the beginning of this month. The announcement came as sources in Congress revealed that the mandatory notification to Congress took place on May 5. Members of the legislative branch have 15 days to approve or deny the executive action.
With only a few days remaining in the congressional review process, the sale comes as the conflict between Israel and Palestine has continued, with no end in sight for the fighting. The purchased weapons are precision-guided missiles. Israel has been the largest recipient of American foreign assistance since World War II.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Lord to guide Congress as they vote on the weapons sale.
- That the president and his administration would seek God’s wisdom in dealings with U.S. allies.
- For God to bring peace to the Middle East.
