His understanding is beyond measure. – Psalm 147:5
In Psalm 147, the Psalmist overflows with a flood of praise. You can imagine him bubbling over and over about God’s goodness. He praises God from how He heals the brokenhearted, calls the stars by name, provides for people and animals, to how He controls the weather. The Psalmist also praises the Lord for building up Israel and revealing His laws to them.
Today, believers can continue this overflowing praise, considering what God the Father has done by, first, sending His Son to die for sinners and then sending the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide. In 1 Corinthians 2:9, Paul quotes Isaiah, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.” What Paul says next in verse 10 is very important, “These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depth of God.” Further in, he says, “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God” (1 Corinthians 2:12).
As it says in today’s verse, God’s understanding has no limits. As you read His word, ask for the Spirit to reveal the things freely given to you by God. The apostle James says to ask for wisdom and God will give it (James 1:5). Thank Him for answered prayers and for blessings He has already poured out on this country. Pray He will give wisdom and understanding from His boundless supply to leaders and to the people who vote for them.

14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
