Vote fell short of 2/3 majority required to convict.
Former President Donald Trump was acquitted in his Senate impeachment trial Saturday afternoon.
All 50 Democrats and 7 Republicans voted to find the president guilty of inciting an insurrection. That number fell short of the two-thirds majority, or 67 votes, necessary to convict.
President Trump celebrated the victory, thanked his supporters, and promised he would soon emerge with a “vision for a bright, radiant, and limitless American future.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For members of the Senate to move forward with the nation’s business and seek bipartisanship.
- For former President Trump and his family, following his acquittal.
- For the voters of America on both sides of the election decisions to find new friendships and that Christians would lead the way.
