CDC Reports U.S. Birth Rate Nearing Record Low

The agency found that there were just 54.6 births per 1,000 women in 2024.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released the U.S. birthrate report for 2024 on Thursday, which was close to the record-low birth rate recorded the previous year. In 2023, the CDC documented 54.5 births for every 1,000 women of reproductive age. In 2024, that number was 54.6 births, a growth of less than one percent compared to the previous year.

Elon Musk and President Donald Trump have expressed their concerns over the declining birthrate and proposed measures to encourage parenthood.

Special Advisor Musk recently stated, “Low birth rates will end civilization.”

President Trump has proposed a $5,000 “baby bonus” and other incentives to encourage Americans to marry and have children.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and administration officials as they seek to incentivize marriage and childbearing.
  • For wisdom for U.S. governing officials as they assess options to encourage having a family.
