President Considers Lowering China Tariffs

President Donald Trump and his trade team are considering lowering tariffs against China.

“145% is very high, and it won’t be that high,” President Trump said. “It won’t be anywhere near that high. It’ll come down substantially. But it won’t be zero ‒ used to be zero.”

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Moscow today. Envoy Witkoff is working to facilitate an end to the Ukrainian war. This is the fourth time meeting between the two officials since President Trump’s second term began.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is holding a cryptocurrency roundtable today. Chairman Paul Atkins will speak about his vision for cryptocurrency in the United States and the administration’s priorities around regulation.
