Secretary of State Marco Rubio is meeting with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Mark Rutte today in Washington, D.C. The NATO chief is also scheduled to meet with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
As negotiations to end the war in Ukraine have stalled, Secretary Rubio indicated that President Donald Trump is prepared to withdraw from attempts at a peace deal unless progress is made. Russia has proposed conditions for a ceasefire to which Ukraine objected.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and other members of President Trump’s trade team are meeting with Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz of Malaysia today in Washington. They will discuss the reciprocal tariffs, particularly in the semiconductor and electronics sectors.
