Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. – Proverbs 12:25
In the world today, many look at humanity as the measure of all things, the center of the universe. This is why, when issues arise, they seek hope from within themselves, looking deeper inside their thoughts and feelings to determine what is “good.“ When those efforts fail to bring peace, a downward spiral of anxiety can lead people to do unwise—even desperate—things.
The Biblical view is quite different. God sits at the center of the universe and genuine hope is discovered in the character of His perfection. When you recognize the Lord is enthroned, righteous, and deserving of glory, world events can be seen through His Sovereignty rather than fear or dread. And you can trust that “he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being” (Ephesians 3:16).
You can offer a word of real hope to the people in your world today – yes, you! Pray that God shows you opportunities to share your faith in His character: Holiness, Power, Justice, Goodness, Mercy, and Truth. Point as many as possible to the ultimate picture of His LOVE – Jesus Christ, His Son, the full and accurate measure of His grace.

25 To whom then will you compare me,
that I should be like him? says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high and see:
who created these?
He who brings out their host by number,
calling them all by name;
by the greatness of his might
and because he is strong in power,
not one is missing.
27 Why do you say, O Jacob,
and speak, O Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord,
and my right is disregarded by my God”?
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
