Take heart; I have overcome the world. – John 16:33
Everybody seems to be taking something… the most commonly used supplement in the USA is the humble multivitamin. Yet, even with amazing advances in science, most nutritionists agree the best way to stay healthy is to get your nutrients directly from a balanced wholesome diet of fresh foods. And the same principle applies to your spiritual life.
If you struggle with the unknowns in life or experience anxiety or dread over the future, feast on God’s Word and let it strengthen your soul. “I am God and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purposes” (Isaiah 46:8-9). “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, you are of more value than many sparrows. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:29-32).
A daily personal encounter with the Lord is essential to your spiritual health. Church attendance, Bible studies, and small groups are healthy supplements in your faith walk. Worship, praise, and thanksgiving are more powerful to your soul and spirit than the multivitamin is to your body!
Pray for the leadership in America’s government and churches to be committed to spiritual health by spending time in God’s Word. Ask the Lord to bless the United States by raising up men and women of faith to serve in public office. As you take your vitamins today take heart, the future is secure in God’s hands.
Today’s Verse: Psalm 99:1
The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” 8 And they remembered his words, 9 and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, 11 but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.
