NEC Director Announces 130 Nations Engaging in Trade Negotiations

He says the administration has made “astonishing” progress.

White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett reported that President Donald Trump’s trade team has made progress on the trade negotiations with 130 nations in trade talks with administration officials. One question has been whether to bundle trade agreements or continue with one-on-one negotiations.

Director Hassett said, “We’ve got everybody in the trade team and even deputies of people in the trade team talking to just about everybody on Earth, and I think that we’ve got more than 10 deals where there’s very good, amazing offers made to the U.S.”

U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and the rest of the president’s trade team continue to evaluate the proposals. The NEC director said, “The president will decide when he’s satisfied with a deal and when he wants to announce it and how many all at once, but I can tell you the progress has been astonishing.”

Director Hassett refuted rumors of insider training, saying that any issues in Washington “will be investigated by the right officials.” He also stated his certainty that there would not be a recession as a result of the tariff strategy.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Hassett to be led by God as he heads the White House National Economic Council.
  • For the president and members of his trade team to seek the Lord’s wisdom as they negotiate trade agreements with foreign countries.
