Issue 694 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has removed a third gender option on official forms. The gender identity option of “X”, added by President Biden’s administration in April of last year, has been eliminated to align with President Trump’s executive order “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.”

Pray for the president and administration officials as they defend the accurate reflection of biological sex in federal government programs, processes, and forms.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona has filed an impeachment resolution against District Judge James Boasberg for not disclosing payments “from non-federal sources” and for interfering with President Trump’s legal authority in rulings that “knowingly extended beyond the bounds of power of his office.” Congressman Biggs is invoking Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution to allow a simple majority of the Senate to remove Judge Boasberg rather than the usual two-thirds majority.

Pray for senators and representatives to be wise as they consider the overreach of congressionally appointed judges.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

Leaders of the Senate Ethics Committee, Chairman James Lankford of Oklahoma and Ranking Member Chris Coons of Delaware, received a letter from a nonpartisan ethics watchdog requesting an investigation into Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey for “directly linking official action to a solicitation for campaign contributions.” Senator Booker, who recently spoke from the Senate floor for a record-breaking 25 hours and 5 minutes, has used that speech to request donations.

Pray for members of the House and Senate committees as they seek to ensure their colleagues comply with ethics rules and laws.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

A federal judge ruled that the White House must provide press pool access to the Associated Press under the First Amendment after journalists filed suit. President Trump’s administration revoked access to the journalist pool, the small group that follows the president to important locations such as the Oval Office and Air Force One, after the outlet refused to update its journalistic stylebook to call the “Gulf of Mexico” the “Gulf of America.”

Pray for wisdom for federal judges as they hear and decide cases regarding the president’s administration.
