Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is concluding his Southwest “Make America Health Again” tour today. The health secretary met with elected officials, tribal leaders, nutrition experts, and charter school planners in Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico this week.

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, chaired by Senator Mike Lee of Utah, is conducting hearings today for President Trump’s nominees for deputy secretary of the Interior and Energy Departments. Other Senate committees are holding confirmation hearings for posts in the Veterans Affairs and Commerce Departments, as well as the Federal Communications Commission, Environmental Protection Agency, Fish and Wildlife Service, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Office of Personnel Management.
House committees are considering legislation today on natural resources, veterans affairs, and federal workforce reduction. Committees will also hold hearings on artificial intelligence, government budget accountability, trade policies, and sanctuary cities.
President Trump pledged to increase tariffs against China by another 50 percent as of today if that nation did not retract its retaliatory tariffs by the 8th of April.
