Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is visiting Panama this week. Today, Secretary Hegseth is attending the 2025 Central American Security Conference and will discuss regional security with officials from Panama and other Central American nations.

Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell stated, “The Secretary will meet with partner-nation senior civilian, military, and security leadership in a series of bilateral meetings that will drive ongoing efforts to strengthen our partnerships with Panama and other Central American nations toward our shared vision for a peaceful and secure Western Hemisphere.”

The Panama Canal Repurchase Act was introduced earlier this year in the House by Representative Dusty Johnson of South Dakota. The legislation would authorize President Donald Trump to negotiate the return of the canal to U.S. ownership to improve national and economic security.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Hegseth to be led by God as he discusses regional security with Panamanian and Central American counterparts.
  • For President Trump to receive wisdom from the Lord as he seeks to regain control of the Panama Canal.
  • For members of Congress as they conduct hearings and consider testimony in several committee and subcommittee meetings today.
