President Donald Trump and members of his administration are calling the reciprocal tariff policy “The Golden Rule for the Golden Age,“ meaning that tariffs are being placed on trading partner nations based on the tariffs and taxes levied against exports from the United States. President Trump announced that he spoke with a Vietnamese official on Friday who said Vietnam is prepared to cut tariffs on the U.S.

“Just had a very productive call with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who told me that Vietnam wants to cut their Tariffs down to ZERO if they are able to make an agreement with the U.S.,” President Trump said. “I thanked him on behalf of our Country, and said I look forward to a meeting in the near future.”
After the tariffs were implemented this week, on what the president dubbed “Liberation Day,“ U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said, “President Trump is correcting long-standing trade imbalances caused by non-reciprocal trade relationships by imposing tariffs to level the playing field for American workers.“
He continued, “For decades, the trade status quo has allowed countries to use unfair trade practices to get ahead at the expense of hardworking Americans. President Trump is revolutionizing our trade policy to put the American economy, the American worker, and our national security first.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to improve national security by promoting manufacturing job growth in this nation.
- For Trade Representative Greer and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick as they encourage companies to open factories and plants in the U.S.
- For the president and his economic advisors as they strategize options to return production to America.
